What is a domain name and how do I register one?
The domain name is part of the Internet address that specifies your computer’s location in the world. The address is written as a series of names separated by full stops. The most common top level domains are:
.edu (education /US)
.net (network resource)
.com (commercial /US)
.gov ( public bodies)
There are many different online companies offering registrations of domain names and a huge variety of prices from a few – to millions of pounds! I normally use Easyspace (who I have no connection with) they are very reasonable and I’ve found them to be reliable.
